Inspiration

The inspiration behind GetRichify came from a simple observation: people often struggle to think creatively about startup ideas, and when they do, the process feels intimidating or overly serious. We wanted to flip that experience completely.

Instead of another dry business idea generator, we imagined an AI that behaves like an overly enthusiastic friend who believes everything can become a billion-dollar company. By mixing humor, exaggeration, and real startup logic, we aimed to make ideation fun, engaging, and approachable especially for beginners, hackers, and creative thinkers.

What it does

GetRichify is an AI-powered startup idea generator that transforms ordinary or even silly ideas into extraordinary (and hilariously exaggerated) business opportunities.

Users can:

  • Chat with an AI that generates funny yet insightful startup pitches
  • Receive valuations, business models, and growth strategies with a humorous twist
  • Spin a destiny wheel to discover their next billion-dollar fate
  • Track their entrepreneurial "journey" using patch notes and progression
  • Calculate and visualize their theoretical path to wealth
  • Toggle between Serious Mode and Fun Mode depending on their intent

How we built it

The project was built as a modern full-stack web application using a combination of frontend frameworks and cloud-native backend services.

Frontend

  • React 18 with TypeScript for scalability and maintainability
  • Vite for fast development and optimized builds
  • Tailwind CSS and shadcn/ui for a clean, responsive UI
  • React Router for seamless navigation
  • TanStack Query for efficient server-state management

Backend & AI

  • Supabase (via Lovable Cloud) for backend services
  • Serverless Edge Functions (Deno) for AI requests
  • Lovable AI Gateway to access Google Gemini 2.5 Flash without managing API keys

All AI responses are generated in real time, ensuring an interactive and dynamic user experience.

Challenges we ran into

One of the biggest challenges was balancing humor and usefulness. We wanted the ideas to be funny, but not meaningless. Achieving that balance required careful prompt tuning and iteration.

Another challenge was ensuring smooth real-time AI responses while maintaining performance and reliability using serverless edge functions.

Design consistency across multiple interactive features chat, spinning wheel, calculators, and dashboards was also a challenge, especially while keeping the UI responsive on all devices.

Accomplishments that we're proud of

  • Successfully built a fully functional AI-powered product using Lovable Cloud
  • Delivered real-time AI responses without managing API keys manually
  • Created a unique blend of entertainment and practical startup thinking
  • Implemented multiple interactive features while maintaining a clean UX
  • Built a scalable architecture suitable for real users, not just a demo

Most importantly, we created something that makes people smile while sparking creativity.

What we learned

Through this project, we learned:

We also learned how small details animations, tone, microcopy can significantly impact user experience.
