Inspiration

I have a lot of relatives that are at high risk. But because of the misinformation and unreliability of testing centers, none of us can get tested and take the proper precautions.

What it does

It lets people book testing appointments Lets testing facilities manage and visualize all their patients and their data Informs users about local testing facilities

How I built it

I am currently working on another project that was web-based. And I figured would do the same here. I built it using Node.js for the backend coupled with socket.io to transfer data and mongodb as a database. Aside from HTML this is fully javascript.

Challenges I ran into

Making it so that as soon as an appointment was booked, it would no longer be listed in the dynamic list of options. Figuring out how to transfer all the data To be honest I had a lot of challenges and bugs. But that's a major part of coding! Time was a major restriction. I could not decide what was of greater urgency to complete!

Accomplishments that I'm proud of

Creating a full and secure user login system Managing and storing all the appointment data in an efficient way Manipulating HTML using javascript

What I learned

New strategies to pass data between sources. How much a team would help. I was so scattered and could barley focus

What's next for getTested

Better interface and mobile compatibility. Working together with testing facilities to implement everything that they need and doing it in a regulated and secure manner. Distributing it for free and helping the world with this pandemic.
