Inspiration

We’ve all been there—left hanging after a date, hangout, or job interview with no follow-up and no closure. That feeling of overthinking what went wrong can be isolating, especially when no one teaches you how to make sense of ghosting. We wanted to create something that not only addresses that pain, but actually helps people grow from it.

What it does

Ghosted AI is your personal AI coach for making sense of ghosting—romantic, platonic, or professional. Just tell it what happened, like you’re venting to a close friend. It listens, analyzes, and gives thoughtful, supportive feedback on things like tone, timing, and delivery—helping you reflect and improve for next time. Using Tavus, we made the experience feel like a human face-to-face interaction, not just another chatbot.

How we built it

We used Bolt to quickly spin up an interactive, prompt-to-app workflow where users could narrate or write their ghosting experience and receive dynamic feedback. Tavus powered the personalized AI video coach, giving the product a human, conversational feel. Behind the scenes, we used prompt chaining and memory to contextualize advice and make feedback feel grounded in each story.

Challenges we ran into

Making the AI feel emotionally intelligent was tricky—ghosting is sensitive, and generic or tone-deaf feedback would do more harm than good. We spent a lot of time refining prompt flows to ensure the output felt supportive, not judgmental. Integrating Tavus video responses smoothly into the app also required custom handling to avoid latency and preserve that face-to-face feel.

Accomplishments that we're proud of

We’re proud of creating something emotionally resonant in such a short time. People immediately “got” the idea—and many admitted they could see themselves actually using it. The real-time, empathetic feedback paired with a video coach stood out as something unique and unexpectedly comforting.

What we learned

Humanizing AI isn’t just about visuals—it’s about tone, pacing, and emotional nuance. We learned how important it is to fine-tune language and UX to build trust. Also: Bolt and Tavus together make for a surprisingly fast and powerful prototyping stack.

What's next for Ghosted AI

We want to expand Ghosted AI to include more scenarios—like friendship fallouts and ghosted job applications. We’re also exploring live coaching integrations and better data privacy features. The long-term goal? Help people navigate rejection with emotional intelligence and resilience.
