Inspiration
We are a group of high schoolers that graduated from Kode With Klossy, Los Angeles in 2016, where we learned how to code in Ruby, HTML, and CSS. We want to change the world with our new coding superpowers, and we wanted to do so by creating a website that makes it easier for users to donate to an organization directly working towards a cause.
What it does
Once you land on our home page, you can select a world issue to learn more about it and find organizations that are working towards fighting that issue and making the world a better place. Our menu also allows you to find volunteer opportunities and advocate.
How we built it
During the 5C Hackathon in Fall of 2016, we built Give Change in just under 12 hours and used a Sinatra MVC to allow our HTML/CSS (front-end) to link to our Ruby (back-end).
