What it does

Daily quotes that inspire you to live your best life and motivate you to make headway towards your personal goals.

How we built it

I first design the rest API to retrieve themes, quotes, categories using Django ORM for database. Built the mobile app using Java and consumed API using retrofit and rxjava3 for Reactive java.

Challenges we ran into

I can't get firebase admin to work for python cos of grpcio library so had to recode uploading quotes to firebase using nodejs , I had to manage memory leaks in nodejs and write chucks of quotes to firebase cloud firestore.

Accomplishments that we're proud of

We are able to create a working mobile app for testing, you can build the code on GitHub using CodeAssist from playstore, haven't refactor to work on Android studio, built using CodeAssist.

What we learned

I learnt Reactive programming using java and had the opportunity to create my first ever nodejs script.

What's next for Goad

Loading indicators and pagination of data for better user experience.
