Inspiration
We wanted to create an application that would help parents and children on the world-wide-web.
What it does
Our application censors words deemed too explicit for younger people.
How we built it
We split up into two separate teams to tackle the frontend and backend, using a Chrome Extension medium to deploy our censoring process
Challenges we ran into
Some changes on the browser when we weren't monitoring a specific site; as we searched the web we basically read through the entire page, causing some changes.
Accomplishments that we're proud of
We successfully deployed our application and censored more than 1500 words that were deemed explicit.
What we learned
We can create applications in a short amount of time that can be useful.
What's next for Good Word
Applying this program to all sorts of apps, and using Computer Vision to censor videos.
