Inspiration

I wanted something on my computer which felt like rough paper, something I wouldn't have to manage per say. This was what I came up with.

What it does

It's a task manager where you can add and delete tasks. Simple as that, there's no fancy bells and whistles.

How we built it

First I built up the main structure of the program (task list, entry bar, and buttons) then I made sure the window could be dynamically resized. Finally I tried to add some different colors to make it look better.

Challenges we ran into

I was trying to change the fonts and the styles of the buttons, however I couldn't really figure it out. In the end, I dropped this idea because I ran out of time.

Accomplishments that we're proud of

I had to scrap my first idea (which was a COVID-19 hotspot tracker which told you if you were safe based on your current location), which meant I only had about 5 hours to build this. Considering I knew pretty much nothing about python and tkinter, and considering there were quite a few problems, I'm just proud that I managed to get a working application going.

What we learned

How to build programs using python and tkinter.

What's next for Goose

I'll probably keep developing it to try and make it look nicer, but other than that, I'm going to keep this program as small as possible to preserve how light it is.
