Inspiration

We were inspired by our fellow classmates, students, who are living in student homes, rental apartments and don't have access to resources like printers, scanners, 3D printers, etc. Those people need to find someone with those resources or they have to go shopping centers or some expensive FaxCopies.

What it does

GoPrint shows you as a customer nearest resource providers, their rating, attributes, possibilities, resources, etc. You can choose any provider you want and send him request along with your file. If the provider accepts your request, he will print out your document or whatever you need for a calculated price you saw during creating your request.

How we built it

GoPrint is presenting an option to print whatever you want whenever you want. That's why we decided to build the application for smartphones. Instead of building PWA or Native applications with JS frameworks we wanted to take a full advantage of one platform. That's why we designed our solution for iOS only. The solution is written in the Swift programming language. It is taking advantage of native components from UIKit framework which makes it adaptive to a different layout supporting all iPhone screen sizes.

Challenges we ran into

The most challenging part was to work on our project at same time and sync our calendars because of online form of hackathon. Despite these problems, our teamwork was at a good level.

Accomplishments that we're proud of

We developed and improved our managing skills, learned how to present our product better and mostly we are proud that we have created another unique opportunity for all those people in world who wants to share and use shared resources.

What we learned

We have learned how project management works in real world, use tools for module and system design and how

What's next for GoPrint

GoPrint wouldn't want to stop just at the point of sharing just printers. There are much more resources which could be shared by this platform. We would like to extend scope of use in the future.
