GPT stands for Global Perspective Transformation, a platform to share and exchange story of over the globe.

Inspiration

We were inspired by Unsplash to make a photo gallery type of website where users can upload images of their own and share their stories. Pictures are worth 1000 words and they can show a lot about how the person sees the world.

What it does

GPT Chat is a story-sharing forum where each user uploads images along with a story about their experience with the goal of transforming perspectives around the globe. The site allows users to see what it is like living somewhere else.

How we built it

We built the website with HTML, CSS, and JavaScript. We used Firebase for the database to store the images.

Challenges we ran into

We are beginners to web development. Doreen learned how to code in HTML, CSS, and JavaScript for the first time, and the rest of us were also beginners.

Accomplishments that we're proud of

We are proud that we managed to create a website, especially the image upload function that Tia worked on. The styling of the website and name of the website are also creative accomplishments we are proud of.

What we learned

We learned a lot about web development and the languages and how it all comes together to create a website.

  • actually displaying the uploaded posts from the database to the gallery
  • chat and commenting functions
