GraphX

Inspiration

Math is an important subject in the STEM world, and particulalry in math, functions are crucial for the bases of many advanced math topics such as calculus. In order to help middle school and highschool students better grasp these graphs, I created this app.

What it does

GraphX is a math game that lets you explore and play with math functions by adjusting sliders and seeing graphs change in real time. It also overlaps graphs to see how they relate to one another, and has a challenge section where users can see how well thy understand the formation of graphs.

How we built it

I used Swift and SwiftUI via Xcode to build a clean, interactive iOS app with custom graphing and sliders.

Challenges we ran into

Figuring out how to draw graphs smoothly and making sure everything looked good on different screens was tricky.

Accomplishments that we're proud of

We made graphing feel fun and hands on. Seeing people actually enjoy playing with math was a win.

What we learned

We learned how to turn complex math into something you can touch and see, and how to use SwiftUI in creative ways.

What's next for GraphX

We want to add more function types, let users build their own challenges, and maybe even turn it into a full learning tool.
