Inspiration

I've tried to use planners many times, to no avail. I never feel motivated to use them and often lose track of my tasks because of that. I recently read that those with mental health issues struggle to motivate themselves and do basic tasks. I wanted to create something that will help those struggling with lack of motivation and offer a fun and unique system.

What it does

GreenLift is a daily tracker that has a built-in to-do list, journal, and mental health resource page. The to-do list is very unique because it has a plant that grows as you complete your tasks. This kind of simple motivation can encourage and motivate users to meet their goals and keep working. In addition, an interactive journal offers custom messages based on the type of user input, uplifting and inspiring them. Finally, a mental health resource page allows users to educate themselves and use resources as needed.

How I built it

I used Javascript, HTML, CSS, and JSON.

Challenges I ran into

I struggled with finding a way to make the plant grow when the task was completed. It took a lot of trial and error to fix it, but I was able to make it work.

Accomplishments that I'm proud of

I'm proud that I completed a website in less than a day and was able to submit it!

What I learned

I learned about web design, the tech industry, and much, much more.

What's next for GreenLift

I hope to add more mental health resources and features in the future, including a meditation section.
