Inspiration

I had a pet bulldog 3 years ago. I lost him during an accident. The reason for death was the loss of blood. I had never experienced such a situation before & so I panicked. We couldn't find someone nearby, for blood donation in time. It was one of the worst experiences of my life & it inspired me to start PetEasy.

What it does

PetEasy is an app where individuals like you and me can list or adopt pets, so instead of leaving them in street the owners have the option to provide their pet another home if they want to disown the pet. The people who are looking for pet can also find pets easily but selecting what pet they want & applying some filters. The app also provides a feature for blood donation. Hospitals or individuals who are willing to donate blood can list the store of blood they have or they can arrange, by giving some general details.

Challenges we ran into

We decided to give the app a new and unique look so that's why we decided to go with glassmorphism. However, while coding, it was really hard to make that effect within 24 hours.

Accomplishments that we're proud of

Tough it was a big app with a number of screens and features, that too with a complicated design, I'm proud that we were able to achieve a quality result in time.

What's next for PetEasy

We are looking forward to adding options for people to leave a review or rating of hospitals/individuals that helped them. Besides we are looking forward to building a sort of community of passionate pet owners and pet caretakers.

What we learned

A lot of things... both technical and non-technical sides. Also, we enhanced our googling, StackOverflow & bug searching skill during the hackathon.

I worked on backend. It was my first project working with a full fledged team making our app. I designed the database of the app in MYSQL and wrote the backend in node.js. I worked on sign up, sign in, messaging(chat-app), adding pets and all. I wrote the hashing algorithm that the backend will use which will help in security and privacy of the users.

I worked on design part of the app. I made the ui/ux with prototype and required animations & worked on the youtube video also

Rajyavardhan Singh
I worked on the front end of the app. Since the design was quite complex, it took me some to code a pixel-perfect app. I've used flutter to build this app, which means that this app can run on 6 different operating systems. All credits go to google for developing a great framework. I've also worked on implementing the backend with the frontend.
