Inspiration
We were inspired to build this product because one of our team members is in a nutritional sciences class.
What it does
Our app allows users to track what food they are eating, and shows them actionable steps that they can take to improve their health based on their eating patterns.
How we built it
We built this app using expo a framework built on top of react native that allows us to use web technologies to build a mobile app.
Challenges we ran into
We ran into many challenges with trying to get our camera feature to work.
Accomplishments that we're proud of
We are proud that we were able to get this project mostly complete in the short amount of time that we were given.
What we learned
Both of us did not have much experience with Expo before starting this project, so we learnt a lot about how to use it.
What's next for GuideMyPlate
We plan to improve the camera feature so that it is even easier for users to track their eating patterns.
