HackBean — The Dungeon Is Your Curriculum We've all been there. It's midnight before an exam, you're staring at notes that mean nothing, and you're wondering why studying feels like punishment. We built HackBean because we believe the problem isn't students — it's the format. Passive reading, boring quizzes, endless flashcards. Nobody learns well when they're miserable. So we asked: what if studying felt like a game you actually wanted to play? HackBean turns any subject into a roguelike dungeon. Every room is a real question. Answer correctly and earn XP and gold. Answer wrong and lose HP. Choose harder paths for bigger rewards. Face a boss at the end that tests everything you learned in that run. Die, learn, come back stronger — exactly how real learning works. But the part we're most proud of is the World Tree. Every concept you clear gets added to a living knowledge graph that persists across every run. Concepts connect to each other. Before you enter a new room, HackBean shows you how the new concept links to something you already know — because you're almost always closer than you think. Most apps are designed to keep you hooked forever. HackBean is designed to make you measurably smarter — and show you proof. Almost all of us fall asleep at the last minute but hey at least it's a working project that we are proud of!
