💡Inspiration💡

We were inspired to create Peace-into-pieces after witnessing the current scenario and hardships that Ukrainians are going through. It is a website that tries to assist refugees by allowing them to find a place to stay, share their articles, and connect with those who are eager to help. We also share statistics on many urgent concerns of refugees so that they can gain a better understanding of what is going on around them.

❓What it does❓

It is a website for refugees due to Russia-Ukraine War . The refugees can contact the guys using our web-app which has all the things required, which a refugee will need such as:-

Data Visualization - CGI Federal We have visualised data and based on which have provided results on the damage, and related factors.
WMFIRE API We have integrated WMFIRE data of illegal immigrants in our website for more accurate data visualization.
Help section for refugees This helps refugees to connect with the team of helpers of official organizations to answer all their queries. It is in the chat format to avoid having some hard to learn interface and it allows people to publish the availability of rooms, as well as the numbers of people who can stay, so that refugees can find a place to stay during these hard times.
Stories and review We have a section for refugees who got help using our web app and want to share their experiences. Simply, A blog where people may post their views and read others' to learn about their conditions and difficulties.

How we built it

We used CockroachDB for the database and backend things, WMFire API for using immigrants data, Twilio for sign-in using message, Figma for prototyping our work and HTML, CSS, JavaScript for actually coding the website.

We faced challenges of time and coordination due to the different time zones of the teammates.

We are proud of what we could accomplish in the given time frame and make something that will actually help refugees if released publicly after doing some nitty-gritty.

We learnt a lot of things during this project like new technologies such as using Coackroach DB and while researching on a topic like this we learnt how war is actually affecting the people's life which was heart-breaking for all of us.

💭What's next for Peace Into Pieces💭

We will be adding a lot of features into the website and will soon come up with a mobile version for more easy access to the information and help them a little during their hardships.
