Inspiration

Looking for hackathons to apply at is a tough task. After struggling with spreadsheets and notes to track our applications, we came up with the idea of Hacktrack.

What it does

Hacktrack is a simple but powerful hackathon administration tool, which can let hackers keep tracking of their applications, register to new ones, join to their academic hacking community, create a team based on the specific skills needed and even buy flights to the city where the hackathon is taking place.

How we built it

The app itself is based on Node.js using the Express framework, and it's hosted on a Heroku dyno.

Challenges we ran into

This type of project is completely new for us, so the fact of learning through the process means double effort and time taken.

Accomplishments that we're proud of

We're sure that we've successfully built a tool that we would be using form now, and so would do most of the hackers we know.

What we learned

We learned to master new technologies such as some Node extensions.

What's next for Hacktrack

Scaling the app to prepare it for a public launch.
