Inspiration
Tired of searching for actual bone-chilling stories to kick off your spooky season? Well look no further, Hallow is here to help! Now, you can spare yourself the time it would have taken to venture to every corner of the internet to find something that would actually sound eerie to you. Halloween season is now something accessible at your fingertips!
What it does
Our team has hand-picked a selection of the internet's best eerie stories, more niche ones that will serve as a new experience for you and your friends. When you visit Hallow, get comfy and prepare yourself for stories available to you, ranging in topics, sure to give someone the creeps regardless of their taste.
How we built it
We built Hallows using a combination of HTML, CSS, and JavaScript.
Challenges we ran into
Like any project with a deadline, time restraints will always play a struggle for the whole process, especially when they are paired with technology issues. We also valued aesthetics highly through this project, so trying to match a story with the overall theme of the site was a challenge in itself.
Accomplishments that we're proud of
Being able to produce a finished product that remains true to Hallows' main goal and slogan is an achievement we hold great pride in! Through all our challenges, we are confident that Hallows is the last piece of the puzzle to fully make your holiday season what it aims to be!
What we learned
Unlike past projects, this was the first product we've made using a package manager. So getting past the learning curve while keeping all other aspects in mind was a learning experience in itself. Along with that, focusing on the word-heavy content on Hallows, we learned to adjust the aesthetic format of what we are usually accustomed to.
What's next for Hallows
With every Halloween that goes by, our expectations and thirst for even scarier stories will also increase; luckily, so do the creation of stories! Hallows aims to increase the number of stories on our site so it's something users can turn to, not just during Halloween, but whenever! Along with that, being able to have users post their own ideas after reading the provided stories is an addition we aim to provide, allowing there to be community interaction to improve each other's storytelling.
