Inspiration
Given that UCLA is such a large campus with many stairs and hills, the landscape of our campus makes it difficult to find accessible routes for students with motor impairments.
What it does
Our app connects these students to the most convenient routes possible, allowing them to safely and reliably get to campus given any location they choose.
How we built it
Expo/React Native Javascript XCode Simulator
Challenges we ran into
We were all beginners, with most of the team being Life Science majors. We watched workshops on ReactNative, Html, CSS, and Javascript and had trouble adjusting to the languages. We had difficulty implementing the pinch feature for pictures and having the images load.
Accomplishments that we're proud of
We're proud of putting our ideas together and putting an app on the table. We are also proud of the pinch and zoom feature on the map, screen navigation, and dynamic display of routes based on destination.
What we learned
We learned how to implement features using React Native.
