Inspiration
I have had the opportunity to be close friends with a number of people in the Medical community. Since freshman year, I have been trying to understand their concerns, and often times it perplexed me why don't they ask for support from their classmates and professors. While discussing this issue further with my friend who is a pre-med major. She described it to me that in the Medical industry there is a very strong notion of a perfect candidate (yes, this notion exists in every field but over the years it has started to fade away in others). The competition is so fierce that often times pre-Med students do not discuss their problems with each other (unless they happen to be close friends). They use Reddit (primarily reading posts and not asking a lot of questions themselves) to prepare for applying to med school even when their fellow classmate could potentially be a great resource. According to a study, 37 percent of Pre-Med Students experience anxiety/depression, and only 26 percent of those seek professional help. I wanted to create software that medical professionals could use regardless of which part of their medical journey they are in Pre-med, Med School, Residency, Fellowship, and Professional.
State farms Challenge was "Here to help life go right". Doctors are the people who help us so much and make sure that we are leading our best life possible. But in the journey to learn to save a life, they forget to look after themselves. Helium is just a tool that encourages people to share their challenges from being stressed to being differently abled. These in Tech the barriers are breaking which is why people are starting to see a lot more people who look like them and that there is no "ideal technologist." It is about time that medical students and professionals see that to be great in their industry they don't all have to be the same. They do not need to reach this fictional "perfect candidate". Every one of them is unique and that is what makes them perfect.

How we built it
- Making the User Flow
- I first created a landing page to collect email addresses in case somebody wants to sign up and be the first to know when the app is launched.
- Figma to create the prototype
- Vectorify, adobe, and vector meter for editing the assets and creating some 3d assets.
- Bravo to create the mobile application.
Challenges we ran into
- I first tried using React to create the landing page and struggled a lot.
- Making a 3d logo is not easy especially if you are doing it for the first time.
- I need a little more experience to fully utilize the Bravo app.
Accomplishments that we're proud of
I am very proud that I was able to do something that may help my friends. I am very proud of trying to use Firebase to collect the emails I am very happy I made my personal best UI yet.
What we learned
How powerful automation can be and how laborious the front end is
