What it does

It is a small cool looking car that drives while trying to avoid obstacles

How we built it

With our Hands (Raspi4, Infineon TOF, LED-Ring, L293D, 3D-printed wheel)

Challenges we ran into

Lots of small problems, the one that ended up costing us the most time was that we tried to use a Arduino Shield to control the dc motors, which did not work. We took a submodule (the L293D) from the circuit board and got the dc motors to work.

Accomplishments that we're proud of

It (mostly) drives around smoothly and feels alive

What we learned

A lot about the raspberry, dc motors, and TOF sensors.

What's next for Herbie

upgrades people upgrades! More powerful power supply, better control of directions. Live feed for TOF Sensor with a small display would also be cool. Herbie could in theory 3D Spaces by driving around with the camera
