Inspiration

The inspiration for Hexagon Inc came from multiple sources and from these sources we merged the ideas together to create one singular ecosystem. For example, we took inspiration from TraceTogether for the app and the temperature sensors you see near crowded areas for the themometer

What it does

Hexagon Inc built something more like an ecosystem, which allows users much more ease of use. The Arduino captures the users temperature and the camera detects whether the user is wear their mask. The app allows users to check how close they are to the next person for social distancing purposes.

How I built it

We used tensorflow and keras to train our mask detecting model and an arduino and a temperature sensor to detect the temperature. For the app we used react native.

Challenges I ran into

Some challenges we ran into were the react native app was not registering which was most likely caused by the bluetooth library not working, we solved this by improvising and just using a Figma model to demonstrate our idea.

Accomplishments that I'm proud of

The accomplishment we are proud of is that the mask detection machine learning model actually worked!

What I learned

We learnt about machine learning, app development, using a arduino and most importantly, learning to work in a team

What's next for Hexagon inc

The next step for Hexagon Inc would be to create more devices in the ecosystem to broaden its range and versatility.
