Inspiration

We were inspired through math games we played when we younger. We decided on this idea after discussing what we played in the past and some games that we played recently. Our aim was to make math enjoyable and engaging by drawing inspiration from both the past and present, we hope to create a fun & educational experience.

What it does

The game gives a current number and "goal" number and the two numbers must match by clicking on different math equations that pop up across the screen while a stopwatch counts your time.

How we built it

The game was built in Python using the pygame module.

Challenges we ran into

We ran into many challenges as we ran into problems with git, internet problems, and communication. We had many conflicts we had to fix and a lot of our code would disappear or reappear causing bugs. Internet problems made pushing & pulling commits, researching, and other tasks difficult to do. During all of this, we all had issues trying to communicate with each other as we had to learn from each other what changes were made, deleted, or replaced.

Accomplishments that we're proud of

While we had run into many problems and bugs, we managed to overcome them. As this was our first hackathon for a few of us, we felt proud being able to stay on track and work together. We were able to finish a full project and that is an accomplishment to us.

What we learned

During this experience, we had learned a lot when it came to teamwork and development. We learned being able to trust each other and seeing how we work together efficiently. We enhanced our knowledge of pygame and learned how to use it better for future use.

What's next for HeyCatchStudios

Going through this experience, we now feel more confident in each other. This will make our teamwork stronger the next time we work on a hackathon or a project together as a team.
