Inspiration💡

We were inspired by organizations wanting to create accessible and customizable applications for people with disabilities. After assessing what applications weren’t out there, we decided to create a one of a kind company catered to each and every kind of unique disability. The new, better, more accessible, more user-friendly, Zillow.

What it does🏠

Our site is a web application that makes it easy for people with disabilities to find rentals. Each disability is special and unique which should be carefully catered to finding a perfect home. The Homease site will take you through a quiz assessing user needs, then showcasing rental listing that match said needs.

How we built it💻

By collaborating through repl.it and utilizing Figma, Spline, Java, Html, CSS, and lots of trial-and-error, we were able to create an interactive helpful site.

Challenges we ran into🧠

1) Time zones of team members made it slightly difficult to catch each other at the right times! 2)Creating a new feature we never tested out before! (The spline 3D) 3) Constant trial and error that may have been a bit time consuming such as positioning words on the site; We had to keep refreshing with different numbers to get it into positions we wanted things in. 4) Realized that one approach did not work in our favor and had to implement a new design in a short time. 5) Creating the typing lettering, something which was new to all of us, was very difficult.

Accomplishments that we're proud of👑

Initially we thought that working remotely on a project with people we have never met before may be a little difficult! However, we overcame that quickly and established a group on discord which allowed for quick communication between each other. As a result we were able to produce a clean and concise web design including a 3D house! It was our first time using Spline so we encountered a lot of problems; (Like the gold effect not working). In the end, we got it perfect and it made for a really cool interactive feature in the site.

What we learned💆

That there needs to be more resources for those with disabilities. It was very surprising to see the lack of support resources available. Additionally, we learned Figma is a great source for design! Will definitely use it more in the future.

What's next for Homease🏘️

Hopefully, our members will pitch this idea to start-up founders! And get feedback on how to improve and move forward.
