Inspiration

I find home automation very interesting and wanted to create a simple system using my programming knowledge.

What it does

HomeCheck allows people to check temperature and humidity conditions in their house while away

How I built it

I used Xcode, Swift, and Python (to communicate with the Raspberry Pi and database) Python Code: https://github.com/rohankatakam/rpi-code

Challenges I ran into

I ran into runtime problems with the database at times.

Accomplishments that I'm proud of

I'm proud that I was able to successfully execute my idea and that I took the time to create a tutorial for the project.

What I learned

I learned how to create a fully functional IoT system using a Raspberry Pi.

What's next for HomeCheck

I will continue to build on more sensors and will hopefully upload another tutorial in the near future.
