Inspiration

Every day we see a lot of people going to a hospital only to find that they cannot be treated there due to lack of resources(room unavailability, doctor unavailability,..). This makes people to check for another hospitals and this induces even more stress during emergency situations. There are many cases where people have lost their lives due to not getting proper treatment on time. This is because the patients are not informed that the hospital's resources are full.

What it does

We made a portal where hospitals can Sign in and update their available resources. The user (patients) can check the resource availability from the portal and thus, decide which hospital to go to, thus getting the treatment done as early as possible.

How we built it

We built the web application using Html, Css and Js for the Front-end and Node.js for the Back-end. Firebase services like Authentication and FireStore database are used to store the hospital's data and to present the data to the users.

Challenges we ran into

We had a lot to present in the Front-end and designing the UI was a big challenge. There was a lot in Front-end that we could not complete within the scheduled time, but we were able to implement a lot in backend.

Accomplishments that we're proud of

We are proud that we completed at least some of the planned functionalities and implemented a lot in the back-end within the given time and used version management of GitHub in the best possible way for collaboration between the team members. GitHub has such vast possibilities that it made hosting the frontend and proper collaboration possible.

What we learned

We learnt a lot during this hackathon. We learnt how to use backend scripts with plain html. Earlier, we have used Firebase with html directly, but this time, we learnt how to use backend scripts with html (for better security).

What's next for Hospitability

User-side UI development, UI improvements, Mobile responsiveness, Direct integration with hospital systems.
