Inspiration Traditional lottery systems suffer from centralization and a lack of transparency, leading to distrust among participants. Given the rise of decentralized applications and the evident need for transparent, fair, and secure gaming systems, we were inspired to bring the trustworthiness of blockchain to the lottery world.

What it does Hotpot Protocol's lottery system allows users to participate in a decentralized and transparent manner. Using blockchain's immutable records, every ticket purchase, draw, and win is recorded transparently. Our lottery ensures fairness, privacy, and offers a tamper-proof mechanism for draws. Utilizing Chainlink VRFs.

How we built it Leveraging the advanced features of blockchain, we developed a system that randomizes lottery draws in a verifiable manner. By incorporating privacy tools, we ensured that while the process remains transparent, users' data is always protected. The integration across multiple chains allows for wide participation and liquidity.

Challenges we ran into Achieving a truly random and verifiable lottery draw on a blockchain was challenging. Balancing transparency, which is inherent to blockchains, with the necessary privacy for users posed another set of challenges. Additionally, integrating a smooth user experience in a decentralized environment was a steep learning curve.

Accomplishments that we're proud of Successfully launching a decentralized lottery system that upholds the values of fairness, transparency, and security. Additionally, our system's multi-chain support ensures widespread adoption and addresses liquidity concerns which most decentralized lotteries face.

What we learned Building a decentralized application requires a deep understanding of not just the technology but also user behaviors and market dynamics. Ensuring trust in a game of chance, like a lottery, means going above and beyond in terms of transparency and verifiability.

What's next for Hotpot Protocol's Lottery System Expanding our lottery system to support more blockchain platforms, introducing more game variants, and partnering with other dapps for cross-promotion. We're also looking into more community-driven features, where users can suggest and vote on future game implementations.
