Inspiration
Every year, nearly 1 million people are forced to amputate or cut off a part of their body so that a deadly disease or faulty limb does not prevent the rest of their body from functioning properly. Losing a limb is one of the most painful procedures a person can go through, not just physically but mentally. We know that amputating a body part requires a lot of strength because you are letting go of a part of you that you have always had. A part that you never had to think twice about moving, feeling or using. We know that adjusting to life with a prosthetic limb when you previously had a real one is an extremely difficult experience, so we created LINK to help you.
What it does
The type of BCI technology that LINK uses to allow you to control prosthetic limbs with just your mind is called electrocorticography, also known as ECOG. We use this BCI for our product because it has a phenomenal scale, high temporal resolution and is mildly invasive.
How I built it
The Website created & designed with HTML, CSS, & Javascript.
Challenges I ran into
I worked on the website on my own, so it took quite a bit of time.
Accomplishments that I'm proud of
Managed to put information out on my own.
What I learned
In terms of the topic, I learned about BCIs & it's functionality. I learned more about formatting in the website creation.
