Inspiration
I wanted to monitor whether my cat is maintaining a healthy level of water consumption.
What it does
It constantly measures the weight of the water at specific intervals to know how much my cat consumes the water daily.
How we built it
I used a weight sensor to measure the weight of the water and Raspberry Pi to make the weight sensor constantly measure the weight of the water at specific intervals and upload the data to a cloud service called "Kintone".
Challenges we ran into
The challenge that I ran into was how my cat kept knocking down the water fountain, making the data inaccurate. So I had to build a box to fixate the water fountain so it wouldn't easily fall from the weight sensor.
Accomplishments that we're proud of
The accomplishment that I'm proud of is how I measured and made an accurate and reliable graph of water weight.
What we learned
I learned that my cat does not consume sufficient amounts of water from the water fountain for an average cat.
What's next for Hydrate Cat
I want to enable notifications so it notifies me when a cat consumes water and I also want to make it able to display the date and time. (Currently using only seconds)
