Inspiration

I wanted to design a headset that I would want to buy for myself. This meant solving problems and inconveniences I face with my computer setup day-to-day. Whenever I would need to show my friends or family a video or play a game with them in person the struggle of switching between my headphones and speakers would be too many extra steps. That's why I got the idea of making a headset and the smart stand with a built-in speaker. This way the headset stand could easily detect when the headset was placed on it and seamlessly switch between speaker/charging mode, or headset mode. I also wanted to be able to not worry about charging the headset which is why I also added wireless charging to the Sky Stand, so that It could be really easy to charge every night.

What it does

HyperX Sky Core is a headset that can be used for anything whether it's gaming or working It has 7.1 3D audio, 30-hour battery life, and noise cancelation. It also has the option of wired mode with USB C so that you can use it on the go. The Sky Stand brings a whole new level of ease to the setup with a Wireless charging headset stand and built-in speakers. Once you put your headphones on it goes to speaker mode and when you take them off it goes to headphone mode making it really easy to swap between the two.

How I built it

I built this by using Autodesk Inventor (CAD program) and designed a 3D headset and added all of the features I wanted like the volume knob straight on the headset and the Headphone stand. putting everything together with all the colors I liked and of course with some of the HyperX Logos.

Challenges I ran into

A challenge I ran into was what type of headset I should make, like the colors, designs, features, and how to express my design in this competition with my custom headset. I then got the idea to use Inventor and started by designing the 3D model of the headset and then making it in the colors and features I wanted.

Accomplishments that I'm proud of

I am proud of how my headset turned out and of all of my ideas that helped make it turn into a good headset like the stand and the cool colorways. It's definitely a product I would want to buy myself. Making all of this in only one day made me proud and shows me what I can do and it means I can continue doing things like this in the future.

What I learned

I learned how to make renders and videos in Inventor to show different pieces moving in different ways and how to make a good-looking and cool website that works, so now in the future, I can make another one and make it even better than this one with more custom features and links.

What's next for HyperX Sky Core

Right Now HyperX Sky Core Is a prototype and I will keep working on it until I can make it an actual physical model that I can use with all of the features I displayed from the 7.1 3D audio to the built-in speakers on the headset stand.
