Inspiration
I have read that working with Meteor is much more easier to create user interactions and manipulate data.
What it does
Testing the capability data manipulation of Meteor to display on svg.
How I built it
Using Meteor with the following packages: meteor-base # Packages every Meteor app needs to have mobile-experience # Packages for a great mobile UX mongo # The database Meteor supports right now blaze-html-templates # Compile .html files into Meteor Blaze views session # Client-side reactive dictionary for your app jquery # Helpful client-side library tracker # Meteor's client-side reactive programming library
standard-minifiers # JS/CSS minifiers run for production mode es5-shim # ECMAScript 5 compatibility for older browsers. ecmascript # Enable ECMAScript2015+ syntax in app code
autopublish # Publish all data to the clients (for prototyping) insecure # Allow all DB writes from clients (for prototyping) d3js:d3 twbs:bootstrap
Challenges I ran into
It is my first Meteor project learning how to work with data to manipulate and display it in SVG
Accomplishments that I'm proud of
Successfully enter, modify, update, delete data and have it show in GUI correctly. Proof of concept for future and bigger D3, SVG and meteor projects.
What I learned
Inner workings of integration between D3, SVG and meteor; capabilities and limitation.
What's next for iBarchart
small user improvements. Template for larger projects
