iDrop

Inspiration

A horrible incident of a man found dead in Arafat, no authorities found him until his body stayed there for 6 months.

What it does

It allows the pilgrims to drop marker on the map with appropriate pins and bare minimum details to bring instant attention of the authorities.

How we built it

Used the XCode platform to build iOS application for the pilgrims and a web admin portal for the authorities to manage and take necessary action if necessary.

Challenges we ran into

Getting the right icons and rending them dynamically took more effort for me.

Accomplishments that we're proud of

الحمد الله. We observed that it could be really beneficial for the common people.

What we learned

Focusing to solve one small problem is much better than trying to embed all solutions in one platform and mess everything.

What's next for iDrop

There are many like

Real-Time updates to only concerned departments.
More pin categories and custom pins
Give access to the user to see his pin history and its status (if addressed by authority or not)
and more after the MVP and careful market study.
