Inspiration

As women ourselves, we've noticed a lack of phone case options when it came to supporting women's empowerment. Therefore we wanted to design a case that would be able to convey both a message of empowerment and a symbolism of how the phone owner was feeling that day.

What it does

Currently the case comes in 3 various designs that have either the words Power, Electric, Fierce, or Bright on them. We also wanted the case to light up the words. This would be done using small battery powered LED lights that can be turned off and on with a small button. This technology has been used by the popular LuMee case, however in our design the lights would be compact underneath the surface of the case, lighting up the word when turned on. The newest iPhone 7 is slim, our case would be slightly thicker than the average case or phone skin, however we believe that the added thickness will help protect the phone as well.

How I built it

We used both photoshop and the design apps on the iPad Pro to design the phone. The website was built used HTML, CSS, JavaScript, and Jquery.

Challenges I ran into

Our original idea was to have multiple variations of the word on one phone, however we found that the added amounts of LED lights and wire would make the case too bulky. Therefore we decided to stick to a phone case with only one word that would light up.

Accomplishments that I'm proud of

I personally am proud of the original artwork we were able to design within a few hours as well the various javascript animations on the homepage of the website.
