Infatrode

Inspiration

We wanted to build a network that incentivizes knowledge creation and sharing instead of clicks or ads. Michigan became our testbed for connecting clubs, classes, and communities.

What it does

Infatrode is a link map of knowledge. Users create entries (notes, clubs, classes, resources) and connect them in a graph view. It works as both a personal journal and a social knowledge network.

How we built it

  • Rich-text editor for flexible notes
  • Graph visualization for connections
  • Scalable design
  • Inspired by Notion, Wikipedia, GitHub

Challenges

  • Making the graph clear and intuitive
  • Balancing personal vs. community use
  • Keeping it lightweight with complex links

Accomplishments

  • Working prototype combining journaling + graph mapping
  • Engaging interface that scales
  • Localized network focused on Michigan

What we learned

  • Integrating text editing + graph visualization
  • Designing for both small and large networks
  • Knowledge tools should be playful as well as useful

What’s next

  • Expand beyond Michigan
  • Collaboration features (tags, version history)
  • Grow into a platform where curiosity builds networks
