Inspiration
We were inspired by our personal struggles with making journaling a consistent habit. We aimed to simplify the journaling process and add a layer of social accountability to make it more engaging.
What it does
Inkly offers a simplified journaling experience with optional prompts. It also includes features like "Streaks" for tracking consistency and allows for social interaction through sticker sharing with friends.
How we built it
We built the frontend using Swift UI and handled the backend and user authentication with Firebase. We also integrated Langchain for language model-based features like dynamic prompts.
Challenges we ran into
Some of the challenges included balancing ease-of-use with feature richness. We also faced challenges in ensuring data privacy while incorporating social elements.
Accomplishments that we're proud of
We're proud of creating a user-friendly interface and successfully integrating social elements that transform journaling into a habit-forming activity.
What we learned
We learned the importance of focusing on user experience and discovered how incorporating social features can significantly enhance user engagement and retention.
What's next for Inkly
The next steps for Inkly include implementing Language Learning Models (LLM) for mood prediction and enabling a gradual cleanup of stickers to maintain a clutter-free user experience.
