Inspiration
We were inspired by the cassette futurism aesthetic, our personal love for vintage media, and the desire to highlight the growing concerns of techno-feudalism.
How we built it
Our team consists of talented developers across numerous disciplines, including music, art, writing, and programming.
Challenges we ran into
This was our programmer's first time participating in a game jam. We also spent the first few hours of the jam planning and ironing out details and forming a game plan.
Accomplishments that we're proud of
We worked together with virtually no friction. We also scoped our project perfectly, assigning each member tasks that were feasible but relatively challenging.
What we learned
We learned a game engine in a single day. We researched the time period and aesthetic that our game features.
What's next for InRetrograde
The game is designed to be expanded in the future, featuring a charting system, potential for more complex mechanics and rhythm game charts, as well as a scalable visual novel engine.
