The most unexpected gateway to financial literacy...TikTok! By using TikTok addiction, we can attempt to teach one of the most untaught topics to young adults, INSURANCE!

Inspiration

The inspiration for this project was watching TikTok for hours, and noticing how much I was captivated by Family Guy and Subway Surfers. Through this epiphany, I found the new way to teach kids who normally don't want to learn about such uninteresting topics.

What it does

OwlBesure is an initiative to teach the youth about important financial life lessons, that they would normally not learn about. By incorporating a modern take, we hope to provide a fresh relevant experience on financial literacy, that even the most uninterested can take apart in.

How we built it

We built it first by creating the TikTok videos using programming, through this we achieved the perfect formula for attention grabbing videos. Then we built the website the videos would be hosted on, we even added a chat option based on ChatGPT, so users can learn even more about the topics.

Challenges we ran into

Challenges we came across was issues involving setting up our development environment, getting our technology stack working together, and most of all writing CSS code and all of the things we wish it would not do.

Accomplishments that we're proud of

Accomplishments we are proud about was learning how to use the ChatGPT API. Through us learning this technology, we are enabled to do even more things that were previously not possible. Another accomplishment we are proud of is the vast amount of technologies we used in this project. From Python, to JavaScript, to AI, to HTML, this was a nice fulfilling way to put into practice of all the things we learned.

What we learned

What we learned through this project, was the unbelievably useful application of AI. From asking the most obvious questions to super niche requests, it managed to accomplish it well. This isn't something coders should be afraid about taking their jobs, but a tool they should use to accomplish more then we can by ourselves.

What's next for OwlBesure

What's next for OwlBesure is to create even more videos, and allow users to create their own custom videos. Through the power of AI, we can turn the most complicated of textbooks into a 2 min Minecraft Parkour TikTok.
