Inspiration
We became fascinated with the idea of a superhero going through the networks
What it does
The concept is a game where you swing through a wireframe cyberspace network, and your swing path is decided by code blocks which you implement yourself to change different variables about it. It would teach you the basics of coding and some basic computer science principles through gameplay, with more upgrades leading to more control over your movement and more customizability.
How we built it
We built it almost entirely in unity, and used GitLab for version control.
Challenges we ran into
We had a lot of trouble over this weekend, but our biggest challenge was right at the end, when a mistake in merging our branches caused us to lose the environment we had built.
Accomplishments that we're proud of
Even though it was deleted, the environment was our biggest accomplishment all weekend. Another massive accomplishment is a rough prototype of the block based coding system that would allow the players to customize their swings.
What we learned
We learned that we should use tools we are more familiar with, as using a new software like GitLab led to many complications, and ultimately our biggest failure.
What's next for Internet Explorer
One day we may return to finish it, as with a little more time we could produce a fun gameplay demo that would show the concept well.
