Small businesses empower the people around them and within them. InternshipCoach helps with that. InternshipCoach is a fully-deployable HTML, CSS, and Django web app that helps students in the internship process.
Inspiration
Spending hours on end searching Linkedin for company jobs, just to get rejected made me angry that there wasn't a better solution. I felt that it took connections to get a job and realized that community organizations were perfect to help students get real-world experience.
What it does
Database: An opportunity database of over 80,000 community opportunities from small businesses, non-profits, and volunteer organizations. Users can scroll through and find their desired opportunity based on a number of features.
AI Coach: Using Gemini AI API, users can learn how to write a successful professional email. They can choose to customize the email and edit the types of responses received.
How I built it
I used Python's BeautifulSoup library to scrape Yellowpages.com and used Django to build the web app. I also used Tableau Public to visualize the database.
