Inspiration:
A lot of the inspiration behind the project was mainly working in retail for a number of years before and after covid and needing to manually remember what items you're out of as well as manually counting each week to see what products are needed.
What it does:
The application takes in a series of products you register in the system and keeps an updated count of what products the store has on hand.
How we built it:
We built the project using Figma and used some resources such as UI Kits and Plugins to help get us started.
Challenges we ran into:
The biggest challenge we ran into was needing to work around timezones as well as needing to work with people with little to no experience programming, but in the end we had fun and learned a lot this weekend.
Accomplishments that we're proud of:
We are really proud of the result especially because normally we focus on front-end recreation from images and not ever really the science of the initial design of a website/app.
What we learned:
We learn how to navigate Figma, import UI Kits and Plugins. We also learned a lot about ourselves and our true potential when given a two-day deadline.
What's next for Inventory Geek:
We want to improve on the analysis features. Users should be able to see items that are almost expired, low on stocks and best sellers.
