Inspiration

To alleviate the administrative burden of manual invoice sorting and enable staff to focus on more strategic tasks that add value to the company.

What it does

Automates the process of invoice sorting, using AI to efficiently extract data from various forms of invoices, and converting it to JSON, saving time and reducing errors.

How we built it

Started by standardizing data from diverse invoice formats. Switched from the initially intended Gemini-pro API to Vertex AI due to regional availability, integrating machine learning for automated sorting.

Challenges we ran into

Adapting to Vertex AI after the Gemini-pro API was unavailable in The Netherlands, and handling the diversity in invoice formats which complicated data standardization.

Accomplishments that we're proud of

Successfully transitioning to a new AI platform under constraints and creating a tool that significantly cuts down manual sorting time and shows promise for more complicated use cases.

What we learned

Gained significant experience in back-end processes and cloud deployment on Google Cloud.

What's next for Invoice Integrator

Plans to deploy the tool in real-world environments for further testing and validation, aiming to refine its capabilities and ensure robust performance under various operational conditions.
