Inspiration

Our team was inspired by a need we face in our daily job as Resident Advisors. Residence Advisors can facilitate growth in residents but sometimes when paired incorrectly roommates can squabble.

What it does

Has a user input their info, and figures out their personality type. It then assigns them a roommate that has also entered their data, and matches off the basis that they should get along as roommates.

How we built it

Using HTML, CSS and JavaScript.

Challenges we ran into

What data points can be effective in determining what roommates are likely to get along with each other. We simply used a personality profile questionnaire for the sake of having predetermined compatibilities. This would ultimately need to be reworked, but for the purpose of the exercise, it suited the purpose.

Accomplishments that we're proud of

The friends we made along the way. Working together as a team. We also are proud of the progress we made on the project amidst everyone’s busy schedules.

What we learned

We learned more about web development, project management, and the opportunity that exists in using meaningful data to predict how friendly people should be with each other.

What's next for iRez

Refine the code to have it working more effectively. Update the user interface to be more aesthetically pleasing. Using more meaningful data points to assign roommates to one another.
