JetGenie

Inspiration

Afsana and I were friends since HS and have always dreamed of traveling the world together! We're heading to Chicago in April, and as one does when they travel they must see everything the city has to offer. Instead of struggling to find places, arch, food, and shows we decided to create JetGenie to take care of our travel itinerary for us.

What it does

JetGenie plans out a trip from start to finish based on your budget, and trip vibes (solo, friends, family), and asks you to weigh out what activities are most important to you based on that short quiz it will plan out each day of your trip, and recommend morning, afternoon, and night activities that you can directly add to your google calendar! We also have a page where you can find hotels and accommodations nearby.

How we built it

Frontend - react +vite backend - flask, express.js database- firebase

Challenges we ran into

We ran into some merging conflicts and the google calendar API was difficult to use

Accomplishments that we're proud of

We're proud we were able to use groq API for the first time and come together to build a beautiful application that lets you travel the world in one easy click!

What we learned

We learned a tremendous deal about UI/UX as well as how to integrate to multiple API. We're excited to grow on our full-stack journey.

What's next for JetGenie

We plan on having a collaborate and smart packing feature for your saved trips. That way you and your friends can spend less time researching and more time exploring the world!!!
