Idea: This App tries to augment the income of financially underserved markets. The two diaries we read (the Rodriguez family & the Johnsons) both needed better money flow but what they also need is an income source for short term (months when emergency expenses are high). In these scenarios augmenting income from part time/hourly jobs can help to tide over shortfall. The CFSI study also points that more than 60% of adults in underserved households have 2 or more jobs, if we can help these households to find better paying & faster access to jobs it would help them immensely. Also this app can be combined with another budget tracking app so that in months of budgetary shortfall an hourly job can be suggested to make up the difference. Killer Functionality: The App goes beyond the basic qualification matrix that most of the job sites use. We are implementing a text classification based engine (etcML) that uses soft skills as well as user’s preference over time to customize the jobs they see. In every listing user can like or dislike a job this will allow the tool to learn more about the user and give better suited jobs over time. Finally, it allows users to apply for the jobs from the app so that they can minimize the time spent on individual applications.
