We both wanted an organized way to learn new skills.
What it does
It creates a personalized roadmap for users wanting to learn a particular skill
How we built it
We used a Flutter frontend and a Node.js backend for MongoDB connnection. We also used the Flask API to connect to OpenAI.
Challenges we ran into
We initially had challenges with creating specific API endpoints and correctly executing REST API calls. Later, we had trouble connecting with Gemini's API, so we had to settle with OpenAI.
Accomplishments that we're proud of
We felt that we made a full-stack application using multiple frameworks from multiple languages.
What we learned
This is our first time making a full-stack application of any sorts. Additionally, this was our first hackathon and we had a lot of fun and learned a lot of things. We will know what to expect next time around.
What's next for Journeyman
We may plan to expand on this application, including adding on features such as a large, centralized community and an interactive platform to better leverage newly learned skills.
