YOUR HEALTH IS OUR PRIORITY
The lack of accessibility of proper medical care in remote societies and isolated ethnicities is prevalent especially during the times of the pandemic where it is of utmost importance. Medicine, as a complex and multi-factorial construct, differential access to medical care, treatment modalities, and disparate outcomes among various racial and ethnic groups has been validated in numerous studies. To solve this problem to a certain extent we begun by planning to make an easy to use website based on finding accessible healthcare and vaccination camps near isolated places and providing quality medical care wherever available.
What it does
Our website provides the location to nearby vaccination camps and hospitals along with the availability of specific medical care within the area using Google Cloud Services. It provides the liberty to search from any place without having to face hectic searching where there is a lack of these facilities. We provide a platform where one can donate organs ,blood and receive blood banks .We have also made added a chatbot where people can freely contact us. In regard to the pandemic, masks should be used as part of a comprehensive ‘Do it all!’ approach including physical distancing, avoiding crowded, closed and close-contact settings, good ventilation, cleaning hands, covering sneezes and coughs, and more . So, in the major section of our website, we've used open CV AI and Python to achieve mask detection.
How we built it
Website was built using HTML, CSS, Javascript, bootstrap, SCSS .Open cv and python was used for mask detection and google cloud services for map.
Challenges we ran into
We had never used AI or cloud platforms to the extent that we did for this project, and we ran into some issues while trying to integrate the mask detection using python into our flask-based website. Also, acquiring a valid API key with pointers and developing and generating the map using Google Cloud Platform were difficulties we faced.
And, due to server backend errors we weren't able to host the flask code in pythonanywhere. But the codes of mask detection have been uploaded in our github repository
Accomplishments that we're proud of
We are happy to have taken the initiative to make a difference in the world by raising awareness about the need of wearing masks with our mask detection open cv model, as well as improving the accessibility of vaccination camps and supplying emergency hospitals.
What we learned
We learnt how to obtain a map API key for markers using the Google Cloud Platform. We also learned how to use open cv to create a mask detection model. At an advanced level, we studied HTML, CSS, JS, and BOOTSTRAP. We discovered the usage of animate.css and hovering effects, which assisted us in making our CSS more appealing.
What's next for JOYHEAL
By improving the chatbot, we'd like to build a community with safety rules for individuals where they can engage with doctors and receive free advice. We'd also like to spend more time developing a mask detection model that can determine if a group of individuals are wearing masks or not. We also intend to provide blogs and podcasts where individuals may obtain direct guidance from physicians and other professionals by joining their sessions. We'd want to add some more visuals to our page to give it a more dramatic impression.
