Inspiration
Our inspiration was basically all the stories we've listened to and grown up listening to, without being able to help. Just imagining ourselves in the positions of those who were unable to live a better life because of not getting help was extremely disheartening. That is essentially what made us wanna build Khutruke.
What it does
Khutruke is a blockchain based fundraising platform in an escrow system that ensures that the funds provided by the donors are responsibly and legitimately used towards a cause. This is done by utilizing a payment based on proof of work.
How we built it
We built it using NextJS as a full stack with MongoDB as our database and Prisma as an ORM. For the blockchain part, we utilized Solidity and deployed it using Hardhat.
Challenges we ran into
Working with blockchain was really tricky, so much so, that at one point we accidentally deployed an under-development contract to the mainnet, causing it to be immutable.
Accomplishments that we're proud of
Building a platform that is really essential in Nepal is something that we're really gonna hold our heads high about. By further working on this project, we want to be able to help everyone.
What we learned
We learned to be extra careful when dealing with blockchain since once something is pushed to the main blockchain, it becomes immutable
