Inspiration

The inspiration behind KiddieSafe is the growing global threat of grooming and online harassment. We believe children, as the most vulnerable and the future of our society, deserve a safe digital environment that parents can trust.

What it does

KiddieSafe creates a secure digital environment for children. Our platform combines real-time monitoring, intelligent threat analysis, and proactive prevention powered by AI to detect suspicious behaviors and harmful online interactions, giving parents peace of mind.

How we built it

Due to the need for administrator permissions, we chose to use native Android technologies, which allowed us deeper system control. We also integrated cloud databases, a central server, and AI models for image analysis and risk detection.

Challenges we ran into

The main challenge was the conflict between multi-platform compatibility and permissions. This pushed us to focus on a single system (Android) that truly allowed us to implement effective and safe parental control. We also faced the learning curve of new dependencies and libraries, as well as the challenge of optimizing AI with limited resources.

Accomplishments that we're proud of

Built a functional prototype in a limited time.

Enabled AI to identify risk patterns in real time.

Learned how to integrate security, usability, and scalability in one project.

Overcame our lack of previous experience with some key tools.

What we learned

Grooming and digital risks are a critical and pressing issue. We learned the importance of developing ethical, responsible, and accessible solutions that truly provide trust to parents and protection to children.

What's next for KiddieSafe

Expand to iOS and eventually to desktop platforms.

Implement a real-time alert system for parents with easy-to-use dashboards.

Expand AI capabilities to analyze text, audio, and video.

Develop an affordable business model, offering families access to a solid and reliable product without skyrocketing prices.

Build alliances with educational institutions and NGOs to strengthen grooming prevention worldwide.
