Inspiration
There are a lot of people who lack time and want to get their tasks automated. It gets really hard to manage ingredients at your home and manage your food tonight. Especially for the students attending colleges or living alone. Looking the hard work done by the students, I found this idea of automating ingredient management and dish planning.
What it does
Kitmate understands the user's need by asking them their diet and allergies. Then the application asks for the ingredients the user has at their home, and suggest recipes depending on the data provided by the user. Kitmate shows a step by step guide on how to create a dish, with images.
How we built it
The design was build on Figma and the application was coded on Android Studio. I built the Mobile application using Flutter/Dart, and Android. I have made use of Gemini AI to automate the tasks in the application.
Challenges we ran into
There were a lot small bugs that I ran into while making the application. A few took more than 2-3 hours to fix and get the application working.
Accomplishments that we're proud of
I am proud to create an application like this which suggests dishes accurately to the users with the data provided by the user.
What we learned
Learned how to use Gemini to add an AI touch to the application. Wrote a lot of prompt to get the accurate result for the application.
