The help command, which lists out all the commands.
-
The jazzoquote command, which randomly chooses a quote from one of our friends. Also an inside joke.

The 8ball command, which randomly chooses a saying from the 8ball.
Inspiration
I really like using discord bots, 2 of which my friends and I use very frequently (Mantaro and Karuta) and for that reason we gave making our own bot a try.
What it does
It doesn't really have a purpose aside from fun commands, such as an 8ball command and a coinflip command. There are also a bunch of inside jokes. Overall, there isn't any problem that this program can solve however, it might help with your boredom.
How we built it
After we attended the Discord Bot workshop, we gave it a shot and started to slowly understand and learn how things worked with python and the discord.py API (we all use Java Console).
Challenges we ran into
Because we are all very new to both coding and python, we had to find a lot of things on our own and understand the meaning of many variables and methods. Things that are familiar but are different are methods (the way they are defined).
Accomplishments that we're proud of
We are more than happy to know that the bot actually works and can even get online and even run a few commands.
What we learned
We learned that there is a developer feature in discord that allows the creation of bots. We also learned slowly a little bit more about python and how the language works.
What's next for Kixlem Bot
We plan to just add whatever we want to the bot, as well as create new commands that can do stuff that are more complicated - hold currency, ban people who use specific words, etc...
Built With
- discord.py
