Inspiration
Students often struggle to find the right peers to study with, attend meaningful meetups, or discover events tailored to their academic or personal growth. Existing platforms are either too casual or lack smart academic-focused matching. I wanted to create a space where conversation, collaboration, and learning converge seamlessly, that’s how Konvele was born.
What it does
Konvele is a student-centric social learning platform that combines the best of study groups, meetups, events, and collaborative learning. With AI-powered smart matching, students can:
Find events in and around universities
Discover and join local/virtual events.
Schedule or attend meetups with like-minded peers.
Access lightweight collaboration tools like group chats, polls, and shared resources.
How we built it
We designed Konvele using a modern web stack—Next.js for the frontend, Firebase for authentication and real-time database, and Genkit for personalized group matching and recommendations. The design follows a funky, colorful, and student-friendly UI to make learning social, engaging, and fun. Firebase Studio was mainly used for prototyping
Challenges we ran into
Balancing simplicity with functionality—students need lightweight tools, not another overwhelming platform.
Implementing AI matching that feels genuinely useful rather than random.
Ensuring accessibility and responsiveness across devices while keeping the UI modern and trendy.
Accomplishments that we're proud of
Creating a smooth onboarding flow where students instantly get matched into groups.
Designing a colorful and interactive UI that stands out from traditional academic apps.
Building the foundations of a platform that can scale into study groups, events, and communities all under one roof.
What I learned
How to blend AI with community building in a way that enhances user trust and engagement.
The importance of designing for students first, keeping features fun yet practical.
That the future of learning is collaborative and social, not solitary.
What's next for Konvele
Adding voice/video integrations for remote meetups.
Expanding AI to provide personalized study recommendations and real-time group insights.
Building gamification features like badges and streaks to encourage participation.
Launching pilot programs in universities and colleges to grow the community.
